PETERSPOTTING
________________________________________________________________________________________
How
many ways can a man die? - You'd be surprised!
During the course of his fifty year
career, Peter Diamond choreographed or performed in
who-knows-how-many different stunts,
fights, crashes, tumbles and plunges. He died in
inumerable
fun, gruesome, stupid, and spectacular ways, and his
many deaths gave rise
to the family game of 'Peterspotting'.
'Look! - There he is being sandwiched
by those cars!'
'Cor! - That's him getting throttled
and knifed!'
Of course, it wasn't always about
death. Peter had actually trained at RADA and was a
qualified actor. From time to time,
he was able to get into slightly meatier speaking roles,
through characters on the periphery of
the action. Peter portrayed the Immortal Fasil in the
first 'Highlander' film, he was 'Zorro's fencing
master Sir Eric Randall in new World's 'Zorro'
series, and he featured as several different
characters in the early series of 'Dr Who'.
Pinning down all those appearances
is going to take time, but as and when we identify
them, you can bet we'll add the details
here on the site - look for the boxed out sections
on the indexed films and shows.
Next time you're watching one of the productions
identified on these pages, take a look
for Peter's face on screen. And if you
see him, wish him luck, because he's probably just
about to come a cropper!...
